Exterior Siding: Vinyl, Wood or Composite for Your Home?

When a hail storm whips through your area, you’re probably worried that your home might sustain some damage. Roofs and siding take it the worst. So, what do you do when you need Andover hail damage repair to fix damaged siding? You’ll probably call your insurance company or a contractor first to have them a take a look at the damage. Then, you’ll have to consider whether you want the same siding or something different.

As we pointed out in an article a while back, there are four main types of siding: vinyl, wood, cedar impressions and composite. Each comes with a wide range of benefits. In the article, we noted:
Depending on your climate, budget and the overall personality of your home, finding siding for home can be a momentous task. However, you don't have to go it alone. Talk to those around you and see what they recommend. Chances are, someone else you know has "been there, done that."
Don’t choose one particular type of siding based only on one factor. Vinyl and wood are the cost-friendly of the group, while composites and cedar impressions are a little more expensive. However, composites and cedar impressions require little to no maintenance and are far more durable than vinyl or wood. Ultimately, the choice you make has to be something with which you’re comfortable.
